We live in uncertain times. The economy is always on the brink of collapse, the wars continue unabated, climate change keeps rearing its ugly head, and the costs of everything from gas to healthcare are increasingly unaffordable. It wouldn’t be so bad if solutions were on the horizon, but we are stuck with a broken political system that is incapable of addressing the needs of its citizens.
Most frustrating to me is the information manipulation of the establishment media. Their job is to keep people informed by holding accountable those in power. Sadly, the American media prefers to serve the powerful. It is impossible to have a citizenry conscious of the complexities of health care, immigration, and climate change when the largest media outlets are unwilling to report accurately or at all on controversial topics. Their reporting is littered with distortions and omissions of any information that threatens the official consensus. All stories are presented in a narrow “republican versus democrat” narrative which paints an incomplete picture of the world.
The goal of this blog is to fill in the pieces missing from the mainstream narrative in hopes of providing people with a more accurate understanding of the important policy issues of our time.
The media is corporate owned. That means they don’t want to inform the public. It’s harsh, but they want to keep the populace stupid. Just look at NBC’s Education Nation nonsense. Charter schools are no better than public schools. It’s a giveaway to the hedge funds and their rich investors.

but don’t stop there. information isn’t enough.
you might want to look into marketing strategy/psychology.
how do people become motivated to take action?
and if people are active, what are they to do?
Bruce E Levine, with a background covering the mental health movement, has taken an attempt to try and articulate some important strategies in terms of building a healthy and effective movement:
